Default 10.3 Mountain Lion Nightmare with HDX

Looking for any wisdom out there...

Nehalem 8 core x 2.26 with HDX. Worked flawlessly on Lion with 10.2.

Upgraded to ML and 10.3, and I have NON-STOP 9171 and 9172 DAE errors. I'm recording a single vocal against a piano track. It is unusable right now. Anyone have advice? Repaired permissions, ran Diskwarrior.

Buffer Size at 512. Tried 14, 8, 12 processors - all same effect.

Go back to your Lion/10.2 partition. If you don't have one of those, then reinstall and learn the lesson.

Did you do a complete uninstall of 10.2? If not, that may be the problem.

I did a 'safe' uninstall....I'll try the full one.

Thanks guys,

I typically get a new drive before I install a new system, but I got greedy for ML.

Got the same kind of thing going here on ML and 10.3.0.
Shouldn't be a problem since they're both qualified - but it is...

I got a thread here on the subject...

I'm on 10.8.2 with no issues so far for a week.

I was getting error like you with 10.8.1 and PT 10.3

I had to repair permissions and delete all my PT preferences.

Works since I did it

Thanks!

Just did a 'clean' uninstall of PT, then a reinstall.

Will report back...

I'm torn between doing a fresh install of ML and 10.3 and *another* fresh install of Lion and 10.2.

I've got it on a SSD so I didn't have enough space for a partition to do a install. I got greedy.

Any reports of from HDX users running 10.3 and ML successfully?

I've had major issues with 10.8.2.
Every time I have one of these sandboxing errors, I get a 9171 error in Pro Tools:

Thanks, Chris! This seems like it - it always felt like the crashes weren't dependent on how much load PT was taking.

But this doesn't affect everyone - my friend with a new 12-core just did an update (not clean install) to ML and 10.3 and hasn't had any problems.

Did you do a clean install of ML?
