Default focusrite interface with protools

Help I recently tried to record a service for my pastor like I usually do but I do not know how to set up protools to do that. Really I'm confused. Any help is needed. Im using a Focisrite 2i2 audio interface

More info needed

Computer and specs software and OS versions

What you are trying to do and how many inputs you are wanting to use and where you are pulling that signal from

Right. I'm sorry I did not have it.
I am running windows 8.1. 64 bit. x64-based processor
8.00 GB of ram, Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N2930 @1.83GHz
Its a Acer Aspire E5-511P.

I am trying to use the 2 inputs I have to either record mono or stereo tracks into PT11. It works normal when I use my headphones to listen back while I work (Having my headphones plugged in the audio interface) but when I tried to record my Pastor teaching it did not recieve a input signal and really I do not know how to set the inputs or outputs or bus or anything like that for I am new to PT. I want to be able to do a recording from either a mic or instrument to the audio interface into PT11 and still have my headphones plugged to monitor. Any ideas?
Oh and I am using a XLR CAD Condenser mic for the mono recording but for stereo I was using 2 outputs from a mixer bored where my pastor was preaching.

Default focusrite interface with protools

So I assume the inputs are XLR out of the board.

Open an session or create a new one, go to the i/o setup- click default on each of the tabs (default is in the bottom left and the tabs are up top) then click ok at the bottom right - also reference manual

Take a new mono track and assign the input to 1 and output to main or whatever the default is and record enable it - if you don't know how to do that- search in the manual for that info

Now if you have that mic turned on and or signals from the board you will see levels, Adjust the levels with the gain on your interface, reference your interface manual for further information

Once you are happy with your levels the hit F12 (I personally use number pad #3, but whatever right)

You should now be recording and monitoring your signal.

Let me know if I have missed anything-

Please post back with your experience

The board from my church was male half inch inputs like most typical instrument inputs but the mic is a XLR. I did everything you told me to do but nothing changed but this time I hooked up my mic to test it and see if it worked and I could hear myself through the audio interface. I'm assuming because i turned on the direct monitor switch but if I turned it off I wouldn't hear anything. Also something interesting happened when I enabled the track to be recorded and when I pressed on the main record button (the one by play and stop) and play a message popped up and reads "Pro Tools could not initialize the Focusrite USB 2.0 Audio Driver. Please make sure the device has been configured correctly." What exactly is that saying because I have a feeling if I fix that then my problem will be solved.

Re-launch PT with the "N" key held down until you get a popup window where you can choose the Interface. Choose the Focusrite and let PT start fully and see if that helps.
