Performance and stability is the same as 2018.10. Nothing new to report.

Not much of a difference from 2018.10 while in use: smooth so far.

One thing I have noticed is that sometimes it will not close regularly and I have to force close it when I'm done.

Looks like at low buffer size it runs better with hyperthreading on compared to 2018.10

Eric I am having the same issues you are saying but with High Sierra 10.13.6

Just had my first(?) crash. Working in NI Abbey Road drummer and poof, it was gone

Sure, I like all the new bells and whistles we have but I can't recall PT 5 crashing like this. Anyhow, back to work...

So then maybe it's related to PT 2018.12 and not the OS. I suppose I could go back to 2018.7 and see what happens.

Working fine over here. Though there are things I wished I tried on one session in 2018.10 before I upgraded to 2018.12 to see if there was any difference. Like Freeze and Commit of multiple tracks at once. I normally record my finished mix to a Print Track and afterwards bounce that 2 track down to a separate wav. file and mp3 and that bounce process is still fast as hell.

My sessions are opening faster (sometimes much faster), but that might also be due to the fact I finally turned off HT in the BIOS as well. No crashes while a session is open or while instantiating a plugin (I moved MDW EQ to the unused plugin folder). I did have a crash while opening after closing about 11+ different sessions but this became as problem after one of the previous Windows OS updates (I think a fresh OS install will solve this problem). When this happens I have to reboot my system.

Everything else is good here but I'm not a heavy VI user in PT (That would be done in FL Studio). Other than my M7's being MIDI controlled excellently by the M7 plugin I can't really say much about MIDI.

PT 2018.12 macOS 10.13.6 upgraded from PT 2018.10 macOS 10.13.3 on the home machine.

Several long days of mixing and no issues. CrashPlan and Time Machine backups are able to run in the background now without causing PT to stop with a CPU error. So that's an improvement.

We didn't upgrade the trash cans at the NYC studio yet so I don't know if my low buffer size issues with recording a large number of tracks is any better. Just did some orchestral recording to a handful of pre-record stems at 96k this week and had to keep the buffer at 128 to prevent stalls mid take (which has been common since v12).

A little off topic,

Could you share some info of your track list for orchestral recording?!

Thanks
