Default Help With Tabs & Timebase Rulers...

Hi,

I know that this is going seem kind of rediculous but I have to ask because it's driving me crazy:

I used to have ProTools set up so that if I used the selector on a region then the "blue flag" markers in the rulers would follow where I clicked (when I say "blue flags" I mean the ones in the timebase rulers that indicate where the transport will play back from). In other words, regardless of where I clicked in a region the transport would play back from there.

However, now (for some reason) I have to click on the rulers themselves to move the "blue flags", which is a pain when editing. And when I click the selector on the region I get these new "black tabs" in the rulers (which each look like a "T" on it's side).

What the heck is going on here?? How do I get rid of the "black "T" tabs" and have the "blue flags" follow my selector?

And for future reference do the "blue flags" and "black "T" tabs" have names?

Thanks a million!!

Ryan

The answer is: You broke your ProTools!

But seriously, it sounds more likely that you've unlinked your Edit and Timeline Selection.

You can correct this by:

1. On the Menu: Operations/Link Edit and Timeline Selection - Check this on
or
2. Type Shift-Slash (Shift-/)
or
3. On the black bar above the timelines there's a difficult-to-figure symbol just to the right of the 'a...z' button. Click it on and you're linked.

See "Link Edit and Timeline" in your Reference Guide.

Good luck, Jim.
