5.1.1 On Windows XP? (And other questions...)
I just got my new PC built, and it has Windows XP installed. I am looking at buying a Digi 001 off Ebay, but it comes with 5.1.1. Will I be able to install it on my new system? If not, how would I go about installing it? The person on Ebay says it comes with a blank registration card. Will I be able to register under my name and be eligible for upgrades? Will I then be able to upgrade to 6.1? Please excuse my ignorance on the subject. I've recorded with Pro Tools many times in studios, but I don't really know that much about it, and I'm dying to get my own little home system up and running ASAP! Please help! Thank you so much in advance...

Re: 5.1.1 On Windows XP? (And other questions...)
with 5.1.1 and a blank registrationcard you probably can download 5.3.1 for free (runs on winXP, as where 5.1 onluy runs on win98se/winME). Maybe you are eligable for a free update to 6.1, but i honestly don't know. Contact Digidesign directly, and fax the registrationform, and you are in business somehow pretty quick.
The update to 6.1 is $75 if you have to buy it, and is worth every penny.
