Default Noob question: How do I transfer Pro Tools 8 LE from one computer to another?

So, a little while ago I put my copy of Pro Tools on a Windows 7 computer of mine. But I more recently got a laptop and it would be EXTREMELY convenient if I could switch Pro Tools from the computer to the laptop. The laptop is also a Windows 7, by the way.

So, how would I go about doing this? Do I simply uninstall it from the first computer and reinstall it on the next?

Install the software on as many computers as you like(use the same authorization code each time). The software will only open if you have a Digi/Avid interface connected.

Pro Tools 8.x requires only a Digidesign/Avid Hardware Interface. Meaning you can install Pro Tools 8.x on as many computers as you like as long as you plug in a I/O box like Mbox or 002/003 which authorizes Pro Tools thus making the I/O box a dongle.

Pro Tools 9.x requires only a USB iLok Key for authorizing Pro Tools.

Oh wow, I can have Pro Tools 8 on more than one computer at the same time? Sweet! That's awesome! Thanks, guys! That's a very good piece of information that I feel like I should have known.

One, two a million computers, doesn't matter how many computers you install it on, Pro Tools LE won't work without a Digidesign/Avid interface also attached to the computer.

Cheers,

Though darn, I seem to have misplaced my Loops and Effects disk... I really hope I can find that. But, that's not a problem that can be solved here, so I'll need to look for that on my own. Thanks for the help, guys!

IIRC, the Big Fish files can be downloaded. Not sure if your Internet download speed and/or your monthly download limit would like the files though.

Cheers,

My drummer has a Macbook and I bought a PC desktop thats being delivered... wont be here in time for this guy to install it... but if we can get it running on my drummers macbook, then we can get it going on my pc at a later time?

Write down the code(in a few places). They don't expire. Same code for Mac or PC installations so no troubles there. The proper code will start with "DIGI0........." with the next 3 digits corresponding to the version(7.3 would have a code like DIGI0730.....) and note that there are usually 2 spaces(you need to leave them) and all letters AFTER "DIGI" are lower case.

Provided the guy installing it has both the PC & Mac installer disks, they are separate.
