HD1 core card crashes my G5???
I have the first gen G5 and a HD1 core card, I took the HD card out a month ago to sell it but then got word of some jobs coming up so I kept it. I just put it back in my computer. PT works fine but now the G5 is crashing every hour or so and I get the spinning ball. I think it is a video card thing because when it crashes it makes the same sound through the speakers that moving Windows around on the screen somtines does, only when it crashed the sound is continuous.
Is it better to put the HD card in a top slot or does this matter? I finally decided to take out the Core card and the problem is gone. anyone know what this could be? Thanks, Mark Dual 2Ghz 10.4.3 PT 6.9.2 |

Re: HD1 core card crashes my G5???
Your HD card should be inserted in the slot next to the graphics card (usually slot 2). Also check the your core card is seated correctly. I had this once before. And I presume you have ran the Digi test utility. Other than that you might be having some sort of software/hardware conflict?
