But my Waves, Uad, Native-Instruments (including Kontakt 5), Voxengo plugins work fine. The only thing you have to overcome in Win8 is the security setting on the harddrive files and folders. Set all your audio apps to Run with the Administrator Privileges .
(Update) I figured out how to get the SSL Plugins to install and activate. I'm good to go!

PT 10.3.2 works fine now on Win8 after installing using Win7 compatibility mode. Before that I was getting the disk cache error others were seeing.

Great tip, thanks everyone

You are launching with Run As Admin?

Did you try launching PT in a compatibility mode? Not just installing, its worth a shot.

What about turning OFF UAC?

Did you trash preferences and databases?

Installed in compatibility mode and run as Admin, everything goes perfect except dragging and dropping files.

Can you confirm dragging files from explorer into Pro Tools (without going to file-import) works?

I have heard of this being an issue from other places.

Hi

I did the update from Windows 7 to Windows 8 pro.
everything is running fine with pro Tools 10.3.2
However you have to check Windows control panel to adapt.
Everything is quicker.
It takes 40 seconds to open protools with an audio session.
so great.
