Default Playing along with a Track

I am using Pro Tools 8, Is there any way to play along with a previously recorded track? What I am wanting to do is play along on a new track with a track that I have just recorded until I figure out the sound that I want and what exactly I want to play. The way i am doing it now is hitting record and play to play along with the track and then I just undo the record. Is there a simple way to do this?

Option K to switch the record track to input only mode. Then just hit play, you should be able to monitor your input signal and your other tracks. The I button next to the Record button should be green.
