Default Protools midi not triggering

Hi my name is Paul

We have a quad core 3.0ghz pc running windows 8gb ram. Daw protools 10.

The problem we are having is we can't get our midi interface to trigger in protools 10.3. With protools 9 we were running an m audio midisport which worked fine. We now have an ESI M8U XL usb midi interface. We have everything hooked up exactly the same exact same settings in the midi studio. Also worth noting that when using the midi interface outside of protools it works fine it's only when running with protools. I am pretty much 100% sure my routing in protools in fine as it's the same way I run my old midi interaces.

Any help would be great

thank you in advance
