Pro Tools 10 HD3 system suddenly crashing on record

Hi, just wondering if someone can help me out, Im out of ideas after a complete clean reinstall and ensuring that all plugs are up to date.

I´m pretty sure you did all the trash prefs etc stuff… so I don´t want to ask this ;-)

did you try to record to another drive ?
do this crashes occur on all your projects ?

Yep, trashed prefs and everything in the sticky note about trouble shooting. tried different drives, etc, etc.
only happening on certain sessions in this project. plays back fine, been mixing for days on these songs, just crashes the instant we try to print the mix/record. I'm guessing its a plugin thing or an audio file in the particular session, but can't narrow it down at all as I'm using the same plugs in other sessions and it plays back just fine.
any thoughts?

create a new project and import the tracks (one by one) from the crashing project and see if the crash still occurs
