Crash when importing mp3 file

Today i tried to import/drag an mp3 of a track into protools 10HD to use as a ref track, and i get the blue screen of death. Anyone had this before and know a solution?

I've read on the forum that some people had this problem and cured it by installing the up to date quick time installer, but still no luck. Any one had this probs and cured it. Please!!!!!!

Hi Raoul,

Sorry I can't help you out, I haven't updated to 10HD yet... Bought the upgrade last Dec., just waiting to finish a bunch of projects before I install it, which will hopefully be this week (can't risk any stability issues).

Hi Third eye this happened in my Pro Tools 9HD aswell I thought installing 10HD would sort it but no such luck

hi mate,

i´ve never had this problem maybe you have any hardware/driver are you able to save the kernel dump? ther´re many software for analyze the .dmp file maybe you get any conclusion when you read the dump

Thanks buddy I'm not to hot on things like that computers how do I save the kernel dump?

Converted an MP3 to a wav file and it imported no problem?????????
