Something I was just about to post on the support page:
"If you still can't hear any sound, it could be because another one of your apps has prevented Scorch from playing audio (sometimes this means that you can only hear sound if you set the iPad's side switch to perform the mute/unmute function). In this case, try restarting your iPad to reset the audio session settings."
