Default M-Audio Fast Track / M-Audio Venom in Pro Tools 10

Hello, I'm trying to use my Venom as a MIDI controller in Pro Tools 10...
1st question, can this even be done?
2nd question, if so how? I've already utilized the USB interface and installed all necessary drivers and even installed / toyed with the included software, Vyzex. Unfortunately, when I have both my USB M-Audio Fast Track interface and USB Venom plugged in I get an error message while trying to intialize DAE objects.

The error message reads "the selected asio audio device could not be initialized. please choose another audio device."

Thanks in advance.
