We designed Wave Rider to have the flexibility over controlling the quieter passages of a signal, since this is where it is more subjective.
Therefore, by setting an output level that is closer to the louder sections of your source material and adjusting the ratio (looser) and silence threshold, you should get a good result while not attenuating too much. So, typically for most things -20 or -21 output level works well. I would be happy to look at your session if you'd like.

2) Fade times. How do you set the release? If you have a noisey section, the tail of the automation between lines ramps down.
This is happening when you have the p.o.s switch on right? For general riding, you can leave this off. Fader will go flat from where it was left off during passages below silence threshold. If you do wish to have the park on silence on, you can adjust its release time with park/release slider.

Maybe its not possible. But it seems like alot of extra work f'ing around with the volume automation with these things.
When you get a hang of it, you'll find it actually takes a lot of work off your hands. And when you say these things I have to emphasize the fact that Wave Rider is one of its kind.
