The rep was correct - new purchases include the current version. If you were upgrading then a license bundle for 10.0/higher is provided since you would have been running an older version and might need access to that for 32-bit, RTAS, etc.
The
Release Limit establishes the newest
future version that the license will authorize, doesn't mean that it will authorize
all older versions. (A "Pro Tools Perpetual" license can technically only authorize 12.6 or higher.)
The download group seems to be shared by both, so I'll ask Avid IT to look into splitting these.
