Thank you for your reply much appreciated
I would love to be able to do as you suggest, but windows does not appear to load a driver for the device. In device manager the firewire device is not listed. When the device is turned on there is no connection to the device.
Thank you for your suggestion, I aggree with your advice and have done this in the past, but my problem now is no device listed in sound properties or device manager.
