Ok, this seems to be solved with 19.9.1.17. Finding and installing it was a little voyage
first the App store wouldn't tell me the PT Control app needed updating.
I then manually deleted it from the iPad and installed the latest 19.9.1.17 from the Appstore.
Also installed 19.9.1.17 on the Mac (5,1 OS10.12.6)
Then Eucontrol still complained about versions not being compatible.
Restarted iPad and Mac another 2 times and suddenly they were happy with each other...
