If the compatibility page says 5.3.3 won't run on an inspiron, then I would go with that. It has been a long time since 5.3.3 came out and those qualifications were made, but:

7.0 will run on an inspiron.
7.0 will work with the mBox.
7.0 is only $75, so with all of the money you're saving on getting the deal on the laptop, you should just get 7.0 and be done with it.
