Default Safari 4 Plugin Crash Isolation

I'd suggest the digi people take a look at how Safari 4 is isolating plugins from crashing the entire browser, as claimed by Apple.

Many (most?) crashes in Pro Tools come from plugins, so an architecture that insulates them from crashing at key points would be great. You might not be able to protect during playback, but loading, startup, and opening, using and closing the GUI are events that cause most of the crashes and aren't performance intensive, which you might be able to isolate.

I've already requested an "Open Session With All Plugins Inactive" option so people can get rid of crashing plugins without tedious Import Session Data workarounds. But isolation would be better.

The lone and native DAWs stretch far away.
