I think its a setting under Hardware or Playback Engine(not a midi setting). I use a Presonus Faderport with footswitch and it works fine. Only requirement there is the SHIFT button must be lit(otherwise, it does Start/Stop). Yu might also see if the X-Touch One has a SHIFT key(or similar) that may toggle like the faderport
