It seems like PTLE (it's the same with free I guess) won't really sync to MTC. As I read in other posts, you can trigger PT via MTC, but it won't correct speed changes.
Anyway, if you try another software like Logic on the PC and record SMPTE on one PT track (using a SMPTE to MTC converter outside the computer) it should work! (SB should work with this)
