Thanks for the feedback. I was actually on the fence between the Studio 192 or a Clarret. I really wanted the 8preX but Thunderbolt was created after my Mac Pro and has no way to integrate it. So next best option was the 8preUSB and that was missing a few features that the Studio 192 could do, namely SMUX mode with its optical IN/OUTS.
Im just such a perfectionist and I was used to using my Digi 003 Rack+ at home for so many years that I was surprised about this quirk. I could open up 44.1, to 96K or vise versa no problem without having to do any restarting of the software. So basically this is just a minor inconvenience. I don't even need to be switching channel I/O count often like that, I just was testing out how the whole rig works and ran into this bit of curve ball for my workflow.
