Playlists work the same way on instrument tracks as they do on audio. Just make a new playlist for each take.

The only difference is you can't switch the view to 'playlists'.

So you just duplicate the track say 5 times (for 5 takes) and empty out the original track to become the comp track and set the playlist of the 5 take tracks accordingly. Takes just a second.

Then you can use the solo button on each take track and pick out the pieces you want and slide them up to the comp track.

That's what I do anyway.
