I'm in Canada, so not directly affecting me, but it sounds like this is tax that should have been paid all along anyway, just that the purchaser had to make the effort of paying it. Just because folks were getting away without paying it (no blame, I'd have done the same!) doesn't really make NewEgg the bad guy here..
Also, no one likes to pay taxes, I get that, but without tax there'd be no roads, schools or in enlightened countries - health care
(not starting a debate about health care, just kidding around)
