Solved.
It was the USB router. POS.
It is a Kensington Pockethub 7 port router. Garbage, I'm afraid.
I'm running everything essential through the two Apple monitors. Works fine now.
Anyone have any suggestions for a replacement router? I have more peripheral devices that have no available ports at the moment..
