Just an FYI, I made another thread, but will post here too. A friend had all his files encrypted by ransomware - cost him $400 to get unencrypted. He was using Macrium Reflect Free - and those files were encrypted too, so couldn't be used. The paid version of Macrium, which I have, has Image Guardian, which is supposed to stop anything but Macrium from using or changing the images. He's bought the full version now. Make sure whatever backup program you're using does the same, just in case. (I image nightly to an external drive, then unplug the drive because, if it's not connected it can't be infected.)

My system is never connected to the net except when I need to upgrade something. ALso, my backup drive is never connected except when I'm backing up.
