OK other things that I should have asked before, at least to clarify...

What mode do you have the C2 in? Lets make sure it in supercardioid mode to start with and you are speaking into the correct input side of the microphone. That means the roll off and pad switch are facing you while speaking into the mic. And the mic is vertical and you are talking into the mesh "face"/side of the mic with those switches are on. So mic orientation like Frank in the attached photo. In supercardioid mode the mic should be sensitive, is a very common mode to work in for voice recording, but is also very directional and you must be using it correctly.

That might all be obvious to you, what you are already doing but I have no way of knowing how much you know abut recording or what you are doing exactly.

Slide the supercardiod/figure 8/omni switch around just in case it's faulty. maybe try omnidirectional and see if that works better.
