This seemed to start literally out of nowhere. The other confusing part is that sometimes when I open the session, the issue won't be there. Then after several minutes of mixing, it re-surfaces.

Mac or PC? What operating system? You give zero system information. If OSX 10.10.5 I can check and see if I can duplicate the problem.
I remember a thread you started back in 2016 where you were losing tracks and you never got back to us if you solved the problem and how. What I'm getting at is this might not be a system problem but pilot error.
