The drums/drummer provided by Apple in GarageBand are great for what they do. I think Garageband is great, but you will likely end up with a much more flexible workflow if you work on your drums in MIDI in Garageband and edit that MIDI until you are happy with it and then export the audio from from Garage band and import into Pro Tools where you work based on that imported rhythm track. No "real time" recording involved.
