You get PTHD on your laptop with the purchase & you can use any core audio hardware........ or none at all.
Its a dam sweet deal as i see it.
example:
you own PT8 / HD2
You buy upgrade to PT9HD for $349
You now get PT9HD and you can also use your new auth to run PT9HD on another computer (like a laptop) without your PT hardware..... and you get almost full HD capabilities! (no TDM plugs, 32 i/o limit, etc)
