These are good things to think about...
I record local Christian muso's and have never given much thought to it.. as I usually work for free... However, I think I will begin giving a signed waiver from me with the HD's when a project is finished..
Things may change in the future, but the less I have to worry about, and the less the folks I deal with have to worry about just makes sense to me.
