What keyboard and how is it connected? Is it configured in the Midi Studio setup window? Is your friend recording to a stereo instrument track, or using separate tracks for midi?(for most VI recording, inserting the VI plugin in the top insert on a stereo instrument track is the simplest and desirable way).
