To use Reason in Pro Tools put the Reason plug-in on a stereo aux track, and then you should get a small plug-in window that has "Rewire" on it and on this window select "Mix L-R". Start Reason. Actually, when you insert the plug-in on my computer, it starts Reason automatically. After it loads, you should be ready to go with routing MIDI in and out of PT.
As far as i know, Garage Band supports Rewire, but only as a host, and not a slave.
