I'm already connected directly. On a dedicated port on my mac, nothing else on that network (fixed IPs as that has worked best for the last years). Just a mix and a control. It used to be fine in terms of speed for years it's been laggy for a couple of versions now. It's mainly the hotkeys on the control and how they update or send commands to PT.

I'll try to de/re-install and see if that makes a difference.
