I just edited my previous post. On non-German keyboards, it's Alt+= (for "MIDI Event List"). Pressing it twice revives my dead shortcuts somehow.

My guess is that the fix lies in the fact that a Pro Tools-owned client window (MIDI Event List in this case) opens and closes after PT lost focus of it's main window into another application.
