Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 40
I just wanted to let you all know about this drive...
I bought it yesterday intending to use it for video capture and playback. Just for kicks, I thought I'd copy a couples sessions from my Atlas 10k to the Plus 40 to see if it could keep up. The 26-track session had 8 tracks of drums with lots of edits (400+) plus vox and other ambient stuff.
To my amazement, it worked flawlessly. Not once did I encounter a "disk too slow" error. Even more surprising was when I placed the Quicktime file on the drive and ran audio and video simultaneously. Again, not a hitch.
I know this drive isn't supported, and I'm not trying to give grief, but
DAMN, this drive rocks!!
