Hmmm, $4600 for a MBP sounds way over-priced to me. Do you really NEED a laptop? With a desktop, you can get much more performance for much less money(like a Mac Mini or iMac 27", i7, 6-core). If its gotta be a laptop, I would look at Apple refurbished. A late i7 quad with lots of RAM should do nicely and be well under $2K
