MTRX as a Monitor Controller?
Any MTRX owners who can give me advice if this is all possible.
Considering an MTRX to replace my current 5.1 controller. I need to monitor 4 separate 5.1 sources. Right now I have 32 outputs feeding a Dangerous ST/SR which is one of the few monitor controllers which can do this. Considering a future when we upgrade our room to handle Atmos for the Home mixing for streaming services.
With the new monitor controller page in ProTools Control now available. Wondering if I can replace with an MTRX and do it all internally via DAD Man. Instead of assigning to separate hardware outputs then sending to the dangerous, I can assign my DX, MX and FX as well as main mix as different monitor sources via DAD Man. That way I need only have one 8 channel D/A card that feeds my speakers and when time comes to go Atmos add as second D/A card to the MTRX.
Jeff Komar, if you are out there, please chime in. Thanks in advance any advice will be greatly appreciated.
