In the MIX window look above each fader for a "button" that says "Read". That's the automation enable button for that track. Click on it to see the other options, which include Off
. Then maybe go to youtube and search for things like "Pro Tools automation" or "how to use automation in pro tools"(without the quotes). Lots of good tutorials there(and some not so good
).
