I like running a the largest buffer for better stability with larger projects. The one I'm working on now is medium sized and so may be OK with a smaller buffer. I may be wrong on this but I didn't think the the audio buffer would have an affect on the buffer a plugin required. I will give it a try. And yes it is true, some of the UA plugs have a very large buffer. I am running windows 7 64 bit with 12 gig of ram. Even though Pro Tools is only 32 bit, there is plenty of available ram according to my meters.
