Ryan, I got this working, but as suspected, it's on the whole time, and the talkback button only functions with the xmon, which makes sense. It's a pretty high output and wide pickup but a little noisy. Still have to bring it up an aux channel and use the mute button same as you would with an external talkback mic without a control surface. So the only advantage is that you have a mic in the meter bridge rather than one sitting on the desk. So the wiring was Dsub pin 8 to xlr pin 1, dsub pin 15 to xlr pin 2. xlr pin 3 not connected, connecting it to pin 1 increased the noise floor a little.
