If the 7300 cannot run the 001, why can the 9600 (main difference that I know of is 3 extra PCI slots!). The hardware manual is the same for the 7300, 8600 & 9600 models.

I have a 7300 (I am not planning on buying a G4 until next year sometime but I have the 001 on order now!)
