Hi Les.

What I'm talking about has been discussed on DUC in some detail but not easy to find. If you search for "affinity" and say "2020.5" you might find stuff. But here is a start: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?p=2568279 and http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=410535

Note workload is still plugin dependent, so how much setting affinity helps or not, and what settings for hyperthreading or dynamic plugin processing etc work best... I would always treat them as things to experiment with. I barely use Windows with Pro Tools so am not the person for deeper advice here. You might want to jump on some of the existing threads. There have been ideas kicking around about renicing Pro Tools on Macs but I'm not sure that's needed or related to 2020.5... anecdotally this seems to be more a Windows thing with this release.
