FWIW, Here are two other things I have found that cause the AAE error -6101 on my systems with 12.4.0 and 12.5.0.
1: When I have auto saved turned on I get random AAE error -6101 and when its turned off I don't get any errors. So I just do Command S now and it works fine that way.
2: I would always wonder why I would faithfuly see a AAE error -6101 after I started Pro Tools and then I wouldn't see it again until the next startup of Pro Tools. It turned out to be happening when I would start up Pro Tools with low latency monitor turn on. If I have it turn off i never see the error.
My system has been running error free for quite some time now since I discovered these things and other things I mentioned in other post's. Hope this helps!
