You might want to try a different USB cable, and port on the computer - for argument sake. Also, if you have another computer you can connect it to, it might be a good idea to test it to make sure it is a FTP problem and not PC.

I've changed my usb cable with a brand new one, plugged in a different port. I've done a CLEAN install of the previous (6.0.7) driver on a fresh formatted system. No success. So I connected the device to my brother's desktop, again no success. It must be a firmware-related issue. Maybe the firmware file was corrupted, I don't know. There MUST be a way to force a firmware install.
