At first it sounds like Soundminer would hurt themselves allowing this. But I guess you'd still need to encode the metadata with Soundminer... so you might as well use SM.

Then again, you could have one copy of SM for metadata encoding, and on the rest of your systems use Spotlight... that is -- if the Mac Finder or Spotlight can actually use the metadata. If so, there would have to be a search sub-field that allows you to enter the desciptions.

Am I missing something? If I have time to research it, I'll post my findings here.
