I *think* I get what you're saying, but even if I don't , the following still applies:

If you create a new "overview" (AKA "backup") by dragging-and-dropping a Protools session Icon into the Mezzo Overview window, the software will "read-into" the Protools session to determine all of the audio files that are used in the session, as well as their locations on various drives. So, if you're using audio files that are scattered over various drives, Mezzo will find them all and back them all up, and then will continue to track that overview for changes each time you open it up.

I suppose that you could make a session as lean as you want/need by removing source or otherwise outdated audio files from the regions list, then doing a Mezzo backup.

It's a great program, and it's really easy to use. Very reliable.
