Default Re: Anybody using Ultrium drives for backup ?

Hey Bro.

The AIT 8mm is still the standard out there for tape backup. AITs will be around for a long time, and are consistently reliable. The AIT-1 is 35GB per tape (uncompressed), transfers at 240MB/min. The AIT-2 is 50GB per tape, 360MB/min. The AIT-3 is 100GB, 720MB/min. At Glyph, we will provide DLTs, Mammoths, Ultriums, etc, when requested for a particular application or need, but we reccommend the AIT in all ProTools related backup, using either Retrospect or Mezzo backup software. I hope this was helpful... feel free to contact me for more details.
Take Care,
Giovanni. [email protected]
