For sure
2 things can really mess you up:
#1-not knowing(so I always select to see Delay Compensation in the MIX window)
#2-a send on any track that has no destination will cause a bunch of compensation that doesn't belong. Example; say you used a send to feeda guitar track to an AUX track with a delay plugin, then you change your mind and delete the AUX track. The send is now feeding nothing, but will confuse the delay comp feature to the tune of almost 2000 samples(pulled my hair out over this one
